Emirati Women’s Day Greeting Cards & Packaging Ribbon
Intro
Project Overview: Pull&Bear commissioned a special in-store activation for Emirati Women’s Day across all UAE locations. The concept included gifting customers a packaged cookie adorned with a custom ribbon and a greeting card paired with dried flowers. My role was to design the hero illustration for the card and a branded ribbon pattern using the Pull&Bear logo. Goal: Create a visually compelling illustration celebrating Emirati women, while maintaining Pull&Bear’s youthful, expressive brand identity. The deliverables needed to be print-ready, adaptable for nationwide distribution, and cohesive with the overall gifting concept. My Role & Responsibilities: Developed the full illustration featured on the greeting card Designed the pattern for the branded ribbon using PB logo elements Determined the size, shape, layout, and overall creative direction Prepared all final assets for print using Adobe Illustrator Process Before starting the design, I conducted market research to understand how other brands interpret Emirati Women’s Day, as well as reviewing Pull&Bear’s previous campaigns for cultural occasions. I explored multiple concepts and formats, beginning with a square card and later shifting to a circular layout based on client preference. Throughout the process, I created several illustration iterations—refining proportions, colors, and character styling—until the final version aligned perfectly with the brand’s vision. Close collaboration and continuous feedback shaped the final design, ensuring both cultural relevance and brand cohesiveness. Final Outcome The completed set included: A circular greeting card featuring a bespoke illustration of Emirati women on one side and Pull&Bear branding on the reverse A custom PB-branded ribbon designed for the cookie packaging Print-ready artwork used across all UAE stores The project was very well received by both the client team and customers in-store. It remains one of my favorite pieces due to its cultural significance, creative freedom, and the positive feedback it generated.
